Favre to Stay Retired

Brett Favre has made a decision. And with it, SportsCenter can now go back to its regular scheduled programming.

ESPN.com is reporting tonight that the all-time career touchdown leader and future Hall of Famer has decided to hang up the cleats and retire from the NFL for a final time (we think), ending months of speculation on a possible return to the Minnesota Vikings.

Vikings head coach Brad Childress said Favre called him earlier this afternoon, stating the reason for his retirement was not wanting to experience the grind of another long, tough season. It would have been Favre's 19th season in the NFL had he decided to come back.

We'll discuss Favre retirement and more this Friday in the Tidbits.
